Phil’s Flash Site

My friend Phil and I had a project for our computer class that involved creating a small web site to demonstrate that we could do it. This project was a team project and we decided to partner up and tackle it together.

The first thing we had to do was to decide on a theme for our web site. The teacher of the class was not concerned what our niche was, but only that we had one and that it was focused.

We decided to make our theme on pit bulls because both of us have large pit bulls at home. My dog’s name is Thor and his dog’s name is Rascal, named after the band Rascal Flats. This theme seemed perfect because we could easily get pictures of the dogs and knew enough about them to write some content about the dogs.

The first thing we did was to write up our content and take some pictures so that we would be ready when it came time to actually design the site. We used Phil’s dads camera since it is better than the one I have. The pictures we took turned out great and the content we wrote was good enough to post up, so we got started on our next task.

Our next task was to find a free web host provider since we didn’t want to spend any money on a silly little school project. After searching the Internet for hours we still had not found anything free besides blog sites. Finally Phil stumbled across a link that said click here for a free website and we decided to check it out.

The link we found ended up taking us to a place that let us actually build a totally free flash website. The site even let us create an amazing game based off of pit bulls and even a cool introduction. The dogs were animated and the game was fully interactive to use.

In the end we had a lot of fun and got the top grade in our class as well as a positive meeting with the school principle. He asked us if we could make a web site for the school for extra credit. We’re just starting on our school’s site, but I think it will be the best site we’ve made so far.
